POVERTY
Many full-time Christian leaders, pastors and evangelists in India live in extreme poverty. God’s Word teaches us that “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” (1 John 3:17). By our assistance, they can serve the Lord more effectively. At the same time, we try to encourage Indian churches to care for those who are set apart for the ministry of the Gospel. God’s Word also teaches us the “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress” (James 1:27). For example, by supporting El Shaddai Children’s Home run by Joseph Paul in Chennai, we are able to play our small part in caring for those in distress.
